Lung Cancer Alliance Wins Big During Awards Week

WASHINGTON, May 23, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Lung Cancer Alliance announced today that it was awarded a Bronze Effie Award in the Disease Awareness and Education category, and a Silver OBIE Award for their "No One Deserves to Die" campaign. This first of its kind stigma busting campaign was designed to start a national conversation around ending the bias associated with lung cancer.

The Effie award was announced last night during the 45th annual North American Effie Awards Gala in New York. Lung Cancer Alliance was honored to be amongst other winners like AT&T, American Express, IBM, Nike and Johnson & Johnson. Since 1968, winning an Effie Award has become a global symbol of achievement for marketing ideas that work, and represent one of the highest honors in the advertising and marketing industry.

The OBIE award was announced on Tuesday night during the 71^st annual OBIE Awards Gala in Los Angeles. The Outdoor Advertising Association of America OBIE Awards recognize creative excellence in out of home advertising and is the oldest awards program in the advertising industry.

The campaign ran for approximately one month in 31 markets throughout the United States and included guerilla and out of home marketing, social media, digital and public relations. It was also advertised on screen in movie theaters in various markets.
