ALLENHURST, N.J., June 17, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Luthin Associates, Inc, a Women and Minority Business Enterprise (WMBE) was chosen as the recipient of the 2013 Outstanding Advocacy Award presented at Anchin's Building the Future: Honoring Industry Leaders, Innovators, and Rising Stars on June 4^th.  Contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and developers were recognized for their leadership and achievements within the industry.

Fifteen firms received an award from Anchin, Block and Anchin, a leading accounting and professional financial services firm headquartered in New York City. Luthin Associates was selected by Anchin's team of judges based on their efforts to advocate for the WMBE community including leadership positions and participation in mentoring programs, and scholarships. Luthin's efforts in representing non-profit institutions in matters related to energy were also cited.

Among her efforts to advocate for the WMBE community, Catherine Luthin, founder and president of the firm, holds a position on the Mayor's Energy Policy Task Force and is the Chair of the Energy Policy Committee of the Council on Women in Energy and Environmental Leadership (CWEEL). CWEEL's goals are to help women pursue education and careers in energy and environmental fields. Ms. Luthin is also the founder and Executive Director of an advocacy group, Consumer Power Advocates (CPA), an association of large, non-profit institutions including most of the largest hospitals and universities in NYC.
