Luxury mountain home, land in Blue Ridge Mountains to sell in Aug. 8 auction

BENT MOUNTAIN, Va., July 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- A luxurious 7,400-square-foot home in the Blue Ridge Mountains will sell at auction Aug. 8, along with approximately 906 acres of land, including home sites and recreational land. Woltz & Associates will manage the event.

The home, built in 2009, sits on approximately 7.5 acres and has four bedrooms, reclaimed Oak flooring, elaborate tiling, a home theater and expansive mountain views that stretch to the Piedmont of North Carolina. With more than $1,500,000 invested, the home is being offered at a minimum bid of $623,500. Two other homes will also be sold, and the land will be sold in 30 tracts ranging from six to 100 acres.  All of the land tracts will be offered at absolute auction with no minimum bid.

"For people who've dreamed of having a home in the Blue Ridge Mountains, it's hard to imagine an auction presenting more possibilities. The homes will appeal to some, but others will be looking for a place to build their own mountain dream home, so we are selling the land in tracts of different sizes. We have one group of nine home sites ranging from 6.7 to 12.6 acres. For those looking for a larger estate site, there's another group of tracts ranging from 16 to 32 acres," said Jim Woltz, president of the auction company.

A third group of tracts includes recreational land being sold in tracts ranging from 27 to 92 acres. "All of these tracts -- whether the home sites or the recreational tracts -- may be combined to create larger properties, and we'll allow bidders to make offers on any combination of tracts. We could have one buyer purchasing all of the property, or it could go to as many as 30 buyers," said Woltz.

The auction will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood in Roanoke, Virginia.
