Lytro Camera Named Winner of Last Gadget Standing; Magisto Named Winner of Mobile Apps Showdown
Best Gadget and Mobile Application of 2012 CES Determined by Live Audience and Online Vote
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Living in Digital Times today announced the winners of the most highly anticipated award events at CES that honors the hottest products and mobile apps. The Lytro camera has been named the winner of Last Gadget Standing; and the Magisto mobile video editing app has won the Mobile Apps Showdown at 2012 International CES.
The top 10 Last Gadget Standing finalists appeared live on stage to a packed house at 2012 International CES where the voting audience determined the winner. Online voters selected a People's Choice winner, Swivl from Satarii, a mobile accessory that works as a personal cameraman for hands free video.
The 10 finalists of Mobile Apps Showdown participated in a live action packed demo competition in front of a live and online audience. The winner was selected based on audience applause-o-meter and an online vote. Online voters selected a People's Choice winner, the Macaw health and fitness app.
Last Gadget Standing, sponsored by Lenovo, is an annual favorite at CES. A distinguished panel of journalists selected the 10 finalists from hundreds of submissions.
The Mobile Apps Showdown featured the top 10 mobile applications, selected by a panel of judges from more than 100 submissions.
Last Gadget Standing and Mobile Apps Showdown were hosted by Jon Hein and Gary (Baba Booey) Dell'Abate, co-hosts of The Wrap Up Show on the Howard Stern channels on SiriusXM Radio, who brought their inimitable wit and knowledge of all things geek to the festivities.
