Mack Weldon's move into accessories is driven by feedback from consumers, who asked for bags designed with the brand's signature smart approach. That demand was compounded by the design team's frustration with existing accessory brands: men's bags are either designed for the outdoors or staid corporate offices with little in between. The goal with the ION Series, as with all Mack Weldon product, is to elevate and innovate with an eye toward solving important functional gaps.
The initial assortment of ION product includes: Wallet ($68), Weekender Bag ($148), Travel Kit ($48), and Swipe Glove ($28). The AirFlex Hat ($38) and Convertible Backpack ($148) will launch in early 2018.
Notable features include antimicrobial, silver-lined interior compartments for both the ION Weekender and ION Travel Kit to ensure the bags' contents remain clean and odor-free; and a waterproof zip closure, RFID-blocking interior for the ION Wallet. Through a partnership with CHRGR, a leading provider of branded mobile power, the ION Weekender, Backpack, and Wallet are equipped with an integrated, high-performance mobile charger for iPhone and Android.
