Magnolia Health Receives Approval To Participate In Mississippi Health Insurance Marketplace

JACKSON, Miss., Sept. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Magnolia Health (Magnolia) announced today that it has received approval from state and federal officials to participate as a Qualified Health Plan issuer in the Mississippi Health Insurance Marketplace, where it will offer a line of products branded as Ambetter from Magnolia Health.

Ambetter from Magnolia Health, the commercial insurance product to be offered by Magnolia  through the newly formed Health Insurance Marketplace, received approval from the Mississippi Department of Insurance and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on September 12, 2013. Magnolia, which currently provides coordinated care services to the slate of Mississippi's Medicaid recipients, was the first private insurer to apply for permission to offer coverage in rural counties in Mississippi.

Health insurance marketplaces, or health exchanges, will provide eligible individuals and families a place to shop, compare and select affordable health insurance plans.  Consumers can start shopping for Ambetter products during the initial Open Enrollment period that begins October 1, 2013, and runs through March 31, 2014, by visiting www.ambetterhealth.com or by calling 877-687-1187.
