Portal from Morneau Shepell provides intuitive format, convenient access and real-time information for members
ATLANTA, GA, April 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - Morneau Shepell and Maine Community Health Options (MCHO) today announced the successful completion of the first phase of the online portal serving all MCHO members. The portal serves as the hub for MCHO members to print ID cards, view claim status, and receive healthcare-related documents in real-time, in a clear and easy-to-understand format.
"The portal developed and administered by Morneau Shepell has been a major contributor to the success of Maine Community Health Options," said MCHO chief executive officer, Kevin Lewis. "Its intuitive format to help find doctors and research medical options positions members to be better healthcare consumers."
"In the second phase," noted William Kilbreth, MCHO chief information officer, "we are now launching the provider-side of the portal that will streamline interactions with organizations such as physician groups, pharmacies and our third party administrator."
René Beaudoin, executive vice president, US Region and chief technology officer, Morneau Shepell, adds, "The member-facing side of the portal was launched in November 2014. It currently supports over 70,000 daily users without any unscheduled downtime. We are proud to contribute to MCHO's goal of being a leader in transforming individual and community health in Maine."
In addition to the completion of the provider-side of the portal, Morneau Shepell and MCHO are exploring integrating the "myLIFE" digital health engagement platform to deliver health awareness and wellness programs for MCHO Members. Says Lewis, "Put it all together, and the portal and Morneau Shepell are helping us to fulfill our mission to partner with members, businesses and health professionals to provide affordable, high-quality benefits that promote health and wellbeing."
