Chattanooga Case Study: Chattanooga's EPB Fiber Network - one of the nation's first municipally owned gigabit services - has continued its phased expansion into surrounding suburbs, ensuring 100% of city limits now have multi-gig access and cementing its WMD lead.

Network Investment Trends: According to the Fiber Broadband Association, fiber now passes 56.5% of U.S. households - adding 9 million new passings in 2024. Major cable operators are beginning DOCSIS 4.0 rollouts to deliver multi-gigabit tiers over existing HFC networks. And the FCC's May 2025 Broadband Data Collection shows nearly 7 million additional locations now have access to 1 Gbps service.
