Major Velos product and services investment drives customer growth
FREMONT, Calif., March 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Velos continues to add a diversity of new customers at an increasing pace. Recent wins include the largest academic medical research network in the world; a clinical data research consortium that includes specialty units in 35 academic medical centers and health systems; two hospital chains with over sixty hospitals; a country; a cooperative group; several more academic medical centers; and a CRO. In addition, current customers are expanding their deployments of both Velos eResearch and sister products that address related needs in areas such as bio-specimen management (Velos eSample); IRB and protocol review (Velos eCompliance); Visit/Procedure Charge Catalog; Investigational Drug Services (Velos Investigational Drug System); patient recruitment (Velos Volunteer); and integration and web-service-based APIs.
The customer growth is a direct result of substantial R&D investments Velos has made over the last five years to create an integrated platform for research, starting with its highly regarded flagship Velos eResearch CTMS. This effort adds integrated products that now address customer needs for regulatory affairs offices, research operations managers, clinical domains, path labs, research pharmacies, data management teams, and financial suites. The company has also expanded its customer service, technical support organization, and related infrastructure to support this entire research platform.
Implementations with multiple products in the research domain went live in 2017, and Velos is now pleased to offer its clinical research "Platform as a Service" (PaaS). This connected solution from IRB to patient recruitment to CTMS to EDC to finance to biospecimen and pharmacy management is uniquely offered by Velos.
Commenting on the successes over the last year, Velos CEO John McIlwain notes, "When prospective customers consider their choices, they find solutions from Velos that can be both 'best in class' and offer an integrated structure that enables the departments of the research enterprise to play harmoniously like sections of an orchestra. The choice is compelling and that is being borne out by the many new additions to the Velos customer community."
