Make Way, IT Departments: HR Moving Up the Tech Ladder

NEW YORK, May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Technology has transformed nearly every aspect of how businesses are created and managed, with one surprising area – human resources (HR) – quietly becoming one of the biggest adopters. On Tuesday, May 22, 2012, Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU-Poly) will bring together top practitioners, academics and thought leaders in the areas of HR as well as information and other technologies for a free, half-day conference on the trend.

The conference, "Game-Changing Technology in Human Capital Management," will offer HR and information technology (IT) executives, managers and professionals, local business owners, entrepreneurs and students the opportunity to learn from some of the country's largest service providers. Conference attendees may also browse a showcase of new products from leading HR and IT technology vendors. Industry recruiters have been invited to join in search of new talent.

Kaufman added that the organizers designed the conference for more than HR professionals: Sessions and the expo will also help small businesses that outsource their HR functions.

Industry leaders and academics will discuss social media, cloud computing, mobile devices and workforce analytics, examining their impact on human capital management practices. Presentations will address how new technologies enable and support overall strategy and influence talent management, workgroup collaboration, privacy and globalization.
