According to the 2013 NACS Consumer Fuels Report, 71% of consumers identify price as the most important factor in buying gas, increasing from 63% in 2012. Findings from this report also note that consumers will seek out competition to save five cents per gallon; specifically, 68% of consumers will drive five minutes out of the way to save five cents per gallon.
