Margaret C. Bae Joins Olshan Corporate Practice as Partner

NEW YORK, April 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Olshan Frome Wolosky LLP today announced that Margaret C. Bae has joined the firm as a Partner in the firm's Corporate practice. She brings to the firm significant corporate experience, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance, private equity, corporate governance, and general corporate representation.

Prior to joining Olshan, Ms. Bae was Senior Vice President and General Counsel at SoEnergy International, Inc. where she managed all legal aspects of business development and operations, focusing on acquisitions, joint ventures and financings. As part of the executive team responsible for the strategic direction and targeted growth efforts of the company, she specialized in corporate transactions in the emerging and developing markets.

Prior to that, Ms. Bae was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of ContourGlobal L.P., where she managed a 17- member global legal team and was responsible for all legal aspects of a $1 billion international power company.  As the former Deputy General Counsel of the company, Ms. Bae provided legal support on all transactions throughout the company, including acquisitions, financings and development.

Ms. Bae started her legal career as a corporate associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP where she focused on corporate and financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, leveraged buyouts, capital markets, financings, restructurings, and general corporate representation.

Ms. Bae earned her J.D. from Cornell Law School, where she was a member of the Cornell Law Review and a recipient of both the John M. Olin Student Scholarship for Law & Economics and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in IPOs & Deal Structure Alternatives. She earned an M.B.A from the Samuel Curtis Johnson School of Management at Cornell and a B.A. from Cornell University, College of Arts & Sciences, where she was a Meinig Family Cornell National Scholar.
