Marijuana Industry Celebration and Benefit Event Aims to Raise $100,000 for Advocacy Groups
PAWTUCKET, R.I., Oct. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Marijuana Business Conference and Expo will host to an exclusive event designed to celebrate the cannabis industry and raise funds for several national legalization advocacy groups.
The Industry Celebration and Benefit event will be held from 7 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, November 12th at the VooDoo Beach Pool Area at the Rio All Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. It gives attendees an evening of fundraising, networking and a chance to mingle with peers, advocacy group leaders, industry stalwarts and other guests.
Proceeds from every ticket sold will go towards an effort to raise over $100,000 for Students for Sensible Drug Policy, The Drug Policy Alliance, NORML, the Marijuana Policy Project, Americans for Safe Access and the National Cannabis Industry Association. The publishers of Marijuana Business Daily (who are producing the conference and celebration) will donate a portion of profits from the Marijuana Business Conference and Expo, as well.
Among the event's special guests is Jeff Mizanskey. Mizanskey was recently released from prison after serving 20 years on a life sentence for a non-violent marijuana-related charge -- the only inmate in the state of Missouri serving such a sentence. He now serves as an advocate for cannabis legalization and sentencing reform.
