Mark Berryman and Nick Flores Join Capricorn Investment Group

Mark Berryman, who has over 20 years of experience in impact investing and emerging markets finance, will join Capricorn's Investment Committee.  He commented, "Capricorn has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional investment solutions that align capital with purpose. Prior to Capricorn, Mark was a Managing Director and member of the Investment Committee at Caprock.  Mark co-led Caprock's impact and sustainable investment business and supported the management of impact-focused family and foundation clients. He is a current adjunct professor of impact investing at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Mark is the inaugural chair of the Impact Capital Managers Limited Partner Council and a member of the Impact Assets 50 Investment Review Committee. Before joining Caprock, Mark was a Lead Investment Officer with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where he was field-based in Turkey, China, Mali, and Washington DC.  Mark also co-led Deutsche Bank's Global Social Investment Funds Group, which managed global structured debt funds for impact. Mark began his career as a three-year Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa. Mark holds an MBA and Masters in International Affairs from Georgetown University.

Nick Flores, who has over 15 years of experience in the impact investing industry and expertise managing client portfolios, will serve as a Client Advisor at Capricorn.  Nick said, "Mission-oriented families and foundations expect more from their investment portfolios: not just appealing financial returns, but also meaningful social and environmental benefits. Prior to Capricorn, Nick was a Managing Director and Client Advisor at Caprock. He co-led Caprock's impact investing business and built portfolios for numerous impact-focused families and foundations. Before joining Caprock, Nick worked at Emcor Securities, where he designed investment strategies for the firm's impact-oriented clients and crafted business plans for the firm's sustainable forestry initiatives. Prior to that, Nick served in impact investing roles at Investors Circle and Green For All. Before committing his career to impact, Nick worked in commercial real estate and sports for nearly a decade. He holds an MBA and BA (with Honors), both from Stanford University.
