WASHINGTON, Feb. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard Levick, founder and CEO, has tapped a proven growth leader, Mark Irion, to take on the role of President of LEVICK. The expanded leadership at LEVICK signals a diversification of the offerings provided by the firm and a response to the increase demand for public affairs and issue advocacy services. Mr. Irion brings more than two decades of public and private sector success to LEVICK, as well as a track record of leveraging the talents of a mid-size consultancy to make it competitive across all sectors.
Mark Irion officially took the position as President on February 5, 2013. Previously, Mr. Irion served as CEO of Dutko Worldwide and led a growth strategy taking the then mid-size firm to Top Five ranking amongst Washington based government and public affairs firms. In 2003, he orchestrated the first large private equity investment in the lobbying space. Subsequent to that sale, he and his partners earned a substantial share of the firm back, and ultimately resold it in late 2009 to the UK based public affairs company Huntsworth, PLC. In addition to increasing the size and profitability of the enterprise, Mr. Irion and his partners brought about innovations, and coined the consultancy category "public policy management firm."
Mark Irion tells us: "I'm proud of what my partners and I accomplished at my previous firm to evolve the model of how to comprehensively manage clients' public policy communications—but LEVICK represents for me a new and even more advanced platform to create the next generation of advocacy communications. Watch this LEVICK space to see how digital, marketing communications, corporate and public affairs communications are integrated to create a go-to firm for issue campaigns." Irion added, "I am astounded by the level of talent and innovation at LEVICK which has received multiple awards ranging from Best Crisis Management Consultant to 2012's Best New Website award."
"LEVICK is poised to be one of the world's leading public affairs and communications firms. As technology evolves and communications practices become more complex we will continue to deliver effective, strategic solutions to take our clients' where they only dreamed possible," said Irion. "LEVICK has the talent, network, and drive to be on every corporate and association's short list to run the smartest and most creative advocacy campaigns this town has ever seen."
"I could not be more proud of the company or the talented individuals who have helped build LEVICK into a recognized brand for crisis, corporate and litigation communications throughout both the nation and the world," said Richard Levick, CEO and Chairman of LEVICK. "Having built this company from the ground to where it is today, I know Mark has the leadership and experience to take this firm to where it will be in the next decade because his track record in this town speaks for itself."
