Marketing Company Blue Global Media Announces 2010 Earnings as Online Marketing Industry Continues Growth
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Scottsdale-based performance marketing company Blue Global Media today announced its 2010 earnings report. The company fell short of its fourth quarter projections but reached its yearly goals as expected.
Blue Global Media reported revenue of nearly $10.4 million in 2010, a 230% increase of their 2009 revenue. Despite falling short of fourth quarter expectations, the company nearly doubled its fourth quarter revenue from the previous year, earning $3.1 million in Q4 2010, compared to $1.6 million in Q4 2009.
"We would've liked to meet our fourth quarter projections, but we are very pleased with the positive growth and progress we've experienced over the past year," said Kay. Performance marketing allows advertisers to only pay for measurable results. According to the Performance Marketing Association, this type of marketing generated $13.4 billion in revenue in 2009, and is poised to grow steadily in the years ahead. Performance marketing makes up 60% of all online ad revenue and is expected to climb as more businesses recognize its efficiency as an advertising model. Though 2010 figures have yet to be released, the overall trend in performance marketing is clear: in 2007, $1.6 billion was spent on affiliate marketing in the U.S. According to Forrester Research, this number is expected to reach $4.1 billion by 2014.

The company grew from 5 to 22 employees in the past year; Kay expects to fill at least ten more positions in 2011.
