Marriott Hotels expands in the Midwest with the Milwaukee Marriott Downtown

MILWAUKEE, June 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Jackson Street Partners and White Lodging today announced the opening of the 205-room Milwaukee Marriott Downtown under a long-term management agreement with White Lodging.

Marriott Hotels is the company's flagship brand with more than 500 properties in nearly 60 countries globally. The Milwaukee Marriott Downtown, 323 E. Wisconsin Ave., is the brand's first hotel in downtown Milwaukee.

In addition, Millioke, which gets its name from the Alquoguin word meaning the good land, has 15 local suppliers and the menu will offer at least 15 Wisconsin cheeses at all times. The $54 million Milwaukee Marriott Downtown fronts North Milwaukee Street and East Wisconsin Avenue and was constructed around the existing Johnson Bank building at 333 E. Wisconsin Ave. It incorporates a majority of the existing 19^th century Wisconsin Avenue buildings that originally stood on the site and their facades. Construction on the property began in late 2011.
