BURBANK, Calif., Sept. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Awesome Mix, Vol. 2 has certified Gold in the U.S., selling over 500,000 units. The Marvel Music/Hollywood Records soundtrack peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart and held the No. 1 position on Billboard's Soundtrack Chart for 5 consecutive weeks (May 20 – June 17, 2017). The album also ranked No. 8 on Nielsen Music's 2017's Mid-Year Top 10 Selling Albums (Dec. 30, 2016 – June 29, 2017), No. 3 on Billboard's 2017 Mid-Year Top 10 Rock Albums and No. 2 on Billboard's 2017 Mid-Year Top 10 Selling Rock Albums charts. The soundtrack has over 1M global album sales.

Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which was written and directed by James Gunn, debuted domestically with $146.5 million, going on to earn more than $389 million in the U.S. and Canada and more than $863 million worldwide.

Last month, Marvel Music/Hollywood Records released the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 cassette and 2-disc vinyl edition of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Deluxe soundtrack.
