BOSTON, Dec. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Massachusetts Mayflower Academy, a full-time online private high school offered through The Virtual High School (VHS Inc.), is now accepting applications for the spring 2019 semester. The academy offers students a wide variety of core and elective courses, including Advanced Placement® (AP®), STEM, social studies, language arts and more. Based in Massachusetts, the academy is open to all students regardless of geographic location. All courses are conducted entirely online giving students the opportunity to learn alongside peers from other districts, states, and even countries. Registration for the 2019 spring semester will close January 23.

Massachusetts Mayflower Academy is a diploma-granting full-time online private high school that is fully accredited by AdvancED and offers more than 200 courses, including over 20 AP® courses that can help students receive college credit. Courses are also approved for NCAA initial eligibility for student athletes. The academy's unique course model helps students hone college and career readiness skills while offering the flexibility needed to meet graduation requirements.
In the spring 2019 semester, students can choose from a wide variety of online courses, including unique and engaging STEM courses. Epidemics is a secondary level biology course that explores infectious diseases and their treatment through an analytical lens. Web Design is a practical web-programming course that prepares students for college and careers by familiarizing them with three web development languages: HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
Massachusetts Mayflower Academy also offers courses that combine STEM with social studies, such as Bioethics, a survey course that presents students with ethical dilemmas in medicine and biology and asks them to critically analyze and justify their position on the topic.
Students, with the assistance of their parents or guardians, can apply to the academy at MassachusettsMayflowerAcademy.org. Accepted students will learn in an online class environment with students from across the United States and around the world. Classes have low student-teacher ratios and high student-teacher interaction, with an average class size of 21 students. All teachers are highly trained, experienced high school teachers.
