Massive 3-day Grad CareerFestival Helps College Grads from the Class of 2017 Land Jobs - Quicker!

TELLURIDE, Colo., July 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- There is a great deal of research that proves college graduates' transition into their first professional job is filled with challenges. According to research by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), it will take the average graduate 7.4 months to find employment. 

Why is that?                                        

It's partly because most grads just don't know how to look for a job! A study by the Career Advisory Board found that 77.4 percent of career center directors did not think their students understood the amount of effort they would need to expend to get a job. A second study by NACE showed how difficult it is to even get students to visit the career center. In that study NACE found that nearly 61 percent of graduating seniors either NEVER went to the career center, or only visited once, or twice. 

Without the knowledge and the skills necessary to get a job, it's no wonder that graduates struggle during their first professional job search. 

That is why 27 career authors, 10 career coaches, and 12 companies that provide innovative online career management and job search tools have come together to offer both employed and unemployed college graduates from the Class of 2017 the opportunity to participate in a 3-day ONLINE Grad CareerFestival scheduled for July 27^th –  29^th, from 11 am - 10 pm EDT.  Graduates can participate in four tracks at www.gradcareerfestival.com:

1. Career Management - On Thursday, July 27^th, nine career authors will provide tips and strategies on how to build a career plan and manage one's career.

4. Career Coaching - Each day from 8 pm – 10 pm EDT four certified career coaches will lead thought-provoking discussions to help grads find direction and meaning in their career choices.
