Lancaster Ave., Wayne, Delaware County. The winning jackpot is worth $2,521,998 cash, less 25 percent federal withholding.
This is the first Match 6 Lotto jackpot won since the game's return on June 3, and it is the largest cash jackpot won in Pennsylvania this year.
In Match 6, players can win up to four times on each $2 ticket – once on each of three lines (base play) and by combining all 18 numbers (combined play). To win the jackpot, players must match all six winning numbers on a single line. Including the jackpot winner, there were 74,625 total winning plays from Thursday evening's Match 6 drawing.
Lottery officials cannot confirm the identity of the Sept. 9 Match 6 jackpot winner until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated. No claim has yet been filed. Pennsylvania Lottery Match 6 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
The Lottery encourages the holder of the winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery's seven area offices.
Claims may be filed at Lottery headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices.
How to Play Match 6: Match 6 tickets cost $2 each. Players can choose six numbers from 1 to 49 or have numbers randomly selected by computer. The computer will then randomly select an additional two sets of six numbers, for three lines of six numbers each or 18 numbers total. Players can win up to four times on each ticket – once on each of three lines (base play) and by combining all 18 numbers (combined play).
Match 6 drawings are held on Monday and Thursday evenings.
