Materiality Owner Alto Racing Launches Website in Preparation for Kentucky Derby
HOUSTON and CARLSBAD, N.M., April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Alto Racing, owner of 2015 Kentucky Derby contender Materiality, today announced the launch of the website, http://www.altoracing.com.

Alto's acquisition strategy is focused on both yearlings and unraced two-year-olds that have the breeding and conformation necessary to deliver graded stakes winners. Alto Racing is a partnership between Houston-based Harrell Racing (75 percent) and New Mexico-based Seven Rivers (25 percent.) Harrell Racing's owners are Eddie Harrell and sons Curtis, Forrest, and Keith. Seven Rivers' owners are Gil Moutray and daughters Dawn Moutray Clark and Kacy Ellis. The Alto Racing/Materiality team also includes bloodstock agent Steve Young, award-winning trainer Todd Pletcher, and JJ Pletcher of the Payton Training Center.
About Materiality
Materiality is the three-year-old son of Afleet Alex, who in 2005 finished third in the Kentucky Derby and won both the Preakness and Belmont Stakes. Alto's blood stock agent, Steve Young, purchased Materiality for $400,000 at the 2014 Fasig Tipton May Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale in Maryland. Seven-time Eclipse Award winner, Todd Pletcher, trains Materiality. Javier Castellano will be Materiality's jockey for the Kentucky Derby.
Materiality's recent victories include the 2015 Islamorada Handicap and the 2015 Besilu Stables Florida Derby. Materiality's victory in the G1 Besilu Stables Florida Derby earned 100 points and secured a spot in the 2015 Kentucky Derby. He is the second Alto horse to qualify for the Derby and the first to enter.
