Ms. Whelan currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Whelan Advisory LLC, which she founded in 2014 to provide strategic and financial counsel to public and private companies. Previously Ms. Whelan ran the finance group of Tricon Capital Group, a publicly traded $1 billion market cap real estate private equity firm. She also spent 18 years on Wall Street, largely focused on the real estate sector. This included roles at JP Morgan (as a Managing Director and Senior Coverage Partner in the Real Estate and Lodging group) and UBS (as a Managing Director and highly regarded stock analyst).

Ms. Whelan was recognized by Forbes as being amongst "Wall Street's Best Stock Pickers" and "Best Analysts" and was a member of Institutional Investor's All-American Research Team from 2002 to 2007. In 2008, she was listed among Business & Finance's "Top 50 Most Influential Irish American Business Leaders." Ms. Whelan earned her Bachelor's degree with an honors in Commerce from the University College of Dublin, Ireland in 1994. She currently serves on the public board of TopBuild Corp. (2017 revenues $1.7 billion), the leading installer and distributor of insulation products to the US construction industry (NYSE:BLD). Additionally, she serves as an Advisor on the private board of John Burns Real Estate Consulting LLC, an independent research and consulting services firm to the US housing industry.
