Marianne has been an advocate for alternative housing models for the past few years and sees both the need and the urgency for them.  Marianne joined the MC Housemates efforts once she saw its potential: "I think the organization looks innovative and it will take somebody who is innovative to look at it as a possibility. Marianne Kilkenny will be leading two events hosted by MCLife this July. On Wednesday July 15, 2015 at 7:00pm Marianne will be leading a presentation on alternative housing models, shared housing and the MC Housemates program. The following event on Thursday July 16, 2015 from 9:30-11:30am is a workshop that walks interested parties through the ins and outs of this alternative housing model. The workshop will discuss the benefits and challenges of shared housing as well as the practical and personal aspects of the MC Housemates program. Both of these events will be held at Copper Canyon and Desert Pointe Academies (7785 W. Peoria Ave. Peoria, AZ 85345). Pre-registration is required for this event, cost is $20 per person and all proceeds will go to Walk Now for Autism Speaks. Through these events, MCLife aims to gain a first group to try the shared housing model out at their property, The Place at Fountains at Sun City, to develop the program in real time. MC Housemates believes in creating shared living in an age-friendly community. Residents will be equipped with the tools they need to build a new life with a housemate. MCLife hopes to get the MC Housemates model up and running by the end of the year.
