Trusted neighborhood wine & spirits shop unveils expanded space, modern design, and renewed commitment to community

Founded in 1967, McCabes continues its tradition of local family ownership. Today, led by owner Daniel Mesznik, a seasoned wine expert and former general manager of Best Bottles on the Upper West Side and Acker Wines in Lincoln Center, the shop bridges the past with the present. Many of the shop's guests ask for Mesznik by name upon arrival, reflecting the personal relationships he has built and his connection to the community. He also continues McCabes' legacy of supporting the UES neighborhood through donations and partnerships with local schools, churches, synagogues, and other non-profits.

The new space features clean sight lines, white oak built-ins and displays, a custom temperature-controlled fine wine and spirits room, and a wine-tasting area that will be utilized for weekly tasting experiences, encouraging exploration and education.

McCabes has also expanded its selections by up to 35% in key categories including Champagne, Burgundy, Kosher wine, and Tequila. The store now offers the largest selection of Kosher wines in Manhattan, alongside a variety of spirits from local distilleries such as Fort Hamilton Distillery and Kings County Distillery.

Now with a revamped space and expanded selection for every price point and preference, McCabes' reopening marks the start of an exciting new chapter for the store.
