McCann Health Global Scientific Council Hosts Special Event At UN General Assembly Focused On Driving the Scientific Agenda Forward in A Complex Changing World

NEW YORK, Sept. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- McCann Health, one of the most creatively awarded healthcare communications networks in the world, and part of McCann Worldgroup, today announced that its new Global Scientific Council will host a special event during the 73^rd U.N. General Assembly focusing on the theme of "Driving the Scientific Agenda Forward in A Complex Changing World."

McCann Health will also unveil its "Grand Challenges in Healthcare Communications," a call to the world's communications community to come together to help solve some of the most daunting medical issues of our time.

The event will kick off with a keynote address from Thomas Goetz, former Executive Editor, WIRED and best-selling author followed by a panel discussion entitled, "Are Advances in Science Outpacing Our Ability to Communicate Them?" The expert panel includes: Kristin Pothier, Global Head of Life Sciences Strategy, EY-Parthenon and author of Personalizing Precision Medicine: A Global Voyage from Vision to Reality; Zhen Su, MD, MBA, Chief Medical Officer, N.A., EMD Serono; and C. Michael Valentine, MD, FACC, President, American College of Cardiology.

The Global Scientific Council, a one-of-a-kind industry first, represents McCann Health's 450+ strong community of PhDs, MDs, pharmacists and other scientific experts from across its global network, dedicated to elevating the role of science in healthcare communications. It is led by three highly respected industry professionals.
