SACRAMENTO, Calif., Dec. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate the upcoming holidays, the McDonald Hearing Aid Center is giving away 20 sets of the newest hearing devices for free to 20 local heroes in Northern California, who receive nominations to receive these gifts from neighbors in their community. This tradition continues as a timely expression of gratitude to local heroes who selflessly strive to help improve the lives of others. The company will announce the 2015 "Gift of Hearing" recipients on Dec. 18, 2015.
In line with their slogan, "Better hearing equals better life," this hearing improvement center draws inspiration to help others from a long family tradition in the hearing assistance field that goes back three generations to the first center, which opened in 1944. To this day, the owners remain passionate about recognizing the value of their local heroes who serve the community as police officers, firefighters, retired and active military personnel, humanitarians, teachers and others who actively work to create a long-lasting and positive impact for others. The total value of the 20 hearing aids comes to more than $100,000. With these valuable gifts, the recipients will get a special chance to enjoy this holiday season to the fullest with their own family and friends.
The McDonald Hearing Aid Center's Spokesperson Stan Atkinson, who is a legendary Television News Reporter and Anchor for over 45 years, as well as a McDonald Hearing Aid Center customer, said, "I have a hearing problem just as more than 36 million Americans do ... Anyone who is in the same predicament deserves to hear better."
