NEW ORLEANS, July 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- McGlinchey Stafford PLLC is pleased to announce Susanne U. Veters, an Associate in the firm's New Orleans office, was appointed as Honorary Consul for the Federal Republic of Germany in Louisiana.
Veters was recommended for the position by her predecessor, Honorary Consul W. Paul Andersson of Leak & Andersson, and was appointed by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Joachim Gauck. She was installed at a reception led by Ricarda Redeker, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, at the Opera Guild Home in New Orleans on April 28.

Veters is one of the few Honorary Consuls in the United States that processes passport applications. In addition to assisting German citizens with passport applications and questions relating to German citizenship, the German Consulate helps businesses find partners and customers, and promotes educational and cultural exchanges.
Veters earned her law degree from Humboldt University School of Law in Berlin, Germany and her Master of Laws degree, with a focus on U.S. Labor and Employment Law and Sports Law, from Tulane University Law School. She also holds a Mediation Certificate from Tulane University Law School.
