McGuireWoods Adds Debt Finance Lawyer in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- McGuireWoods LLP today announced that Neil Rust has joined the firm's banking and finance group in Los Angeles as a partner. He brings to the firm a broad transactional practice that includes representing domestic and international clients in connection with middle market, investment grade and leveraged finance, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate work.

Rust, who was previously a partner at White & Case LLP in Los Angeles, has more than 25 years of experience representing clients in the public utilities, transportation, information services, analytics, technology, title insurance and manufacturing industries. He advises arrangers, agents and lenders on secured and unsecured bilateral and syndicated credit facilities in both the middle and large capital markets for corporate borrowers across the ratings spectrum. He also represents liquidity providers and large financial institutions in credit and direct security purchasing, and advises strategic buyers and sellers in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions transactions.

Rust earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. He earned his LL.B. in 1985 from the University of London, where he also earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mining engineering in 1978. He has been recognized in the area of California Banking and Finance by Chambers USA since 2005. California Lawyer magazine named him "Attorney of the Year (CLAY)" for transactional law in 2002 and The American Lawyer magazine named him "Dealmaker of the Year" for municipal finance in 2003.
