McKay and Quincy Expand Lowest Latency Microwave Services in US and Europe
OAKLAND, Calif., Nov. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- McKay Brothers and Quincy Data recently added to their industry leading offerings for the latency-sensitive trading community. McKay Brothers Microwave service connected the last major co-location center on the Illinois-New Jersey long-haul network at the lowest known latency. Through its European affiliate, the McKay bandwidth service went live between the UK and Frankfurt at the lowest known latency. Meanwhile, the Quincy Extreme Data service continued to expand its distribution of market data in the US and Europe.
McKay Brothers' US network now connects all major co-location centers for the trading of futures, equities, foreign exchange and treasury products. The McKay US long-haul bandwidth service is recognized as the premier microwave network between major trading centers. Each of the company's long-haul links between Illinois and New Jersey is the industry's lowest known latency.
"The expansion of our bandwidth service demonstrates our commitment to provide clients the fastest and most extensive microwave network," says McKay Brothers co-founder Bob Meade. "We aim to connect all major trading centers at the speed of light."
In addition, McKay Brothers first European microwave link is live, connecting the UK with Frankfurt at the lowest known latency. The new European route marks McKay's arrival to the global microwave bandwidth market. More UK to Frankfurt connections will come online in Q1 2015. The McKay wireless bandwidth service will offer millimeter wave links among major London co-location centers.
"We apply the same expertise that built the leading US microwave network to our European offering," says Francois Tyc, managing director of McKay Brothers International. "Risk managers and traders of European markets are now benefiting from McKay's rigorous approach and relentless drive to eradicate latency."
Meanwhile, the Quincy Extreme Data service continues to expand distribution of its lowest latency market data. QED's US and European presence is the most extensive of any commercial microwave data service. QED offers market data from more sources, in more co-los and at lower latency than any other microwave market data service.
"Latency sensitive traders appreciate that the QED service utilizes FPGA feedhandlers, then efficiently integrates and normalizes a full range of exchange feeds," says Tyc. "Clients can focus on what they do best, taking and managing risk."
The QED service is committed to offering the fastest data on a level playing field to all firms. Quincy provides equal access to all subscribers, a tailored pricing model, short-term contacts and small company discounts.
