MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Oct. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ASTRO Booth #825 -- Tuesday, October 4 at 10:30 a.m. ET, during the American Society for Radiation Oncology's (ASTRO) 53rd Annual Meeting, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Elekta will present the Sandy B. Muller Breast Cancer Foundation with a check. The company's activities at ASTRO raised a total of $50,000 for the Miami-based organization. In addition to contributing the proceeds from ticket sales for the Elekta Charity Bash on October 1, Elekta made a donation for each ASTRO attendee who had their badge swiped at the Elekta exhibit. During the Annual Meeting, Elekta focused on how the company supports individuals with breast cancer through the breast cancer continuum, from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up.
