Media General's Nicole McMullin and Roslyn Ryan Recognized as "Next-Generation Leaders" by Editor & Publisher
RICHMOND, Va., April 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Media General, Inc. (NYSE: MEG) said today that Nicole McMullin, digital products manager for the Richmond Media Group, and Roslyn Ryan, editor of the weekly newspaper Powhatan Today, have been named to Editor & Publisher's "25 Under 35."
In its April 2011 issue, Editor & Publisher said, "The awards recognize next-generation leaders, who are young, bright and capable of tackling whatever the changing climate throws at them. They are people with business acumen to lead through trying times and vision to implement bold, new strategies."
Ms. McMullin has been with Media General since 2004 in a variety of roles, all focused on connecting with the company's audience through various digital channels. She has been digital projects manager since December 2010 and previously was the new media manager at Richmond.com. She is a graduate of Virginia Union University.

Ms. Ryan was named editor of Powhatan Today in late 2007. She joined the newspaper in 2004 as its first sports editor. In her role, she has expanded the coverage of traditional news in the newspaper and on its website. She holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
"Roslyn has brought Powhatan Today into the 21st century by redesigning the newspaper and increasing its local coverage. In addition, she launched a new website in 2008 with fresh, expanded content, including a searchable salary database of county and public school employees, which has generated a doubling of page views since 2008.
