Medical Simulation Corporation to Introduce New Quality Initiative Programs at IHI 2010
Heart Failure and Door-to-Balloon Time Programs Added to SimSuite Menu
DENVER, Dec. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Medical Simulation Corporation (MSC) will highlight a full menu of simulation-based Quality Initiative Programs at the 22nd Annual Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) National Forum on Quality Improvement in Healthcare, December 5-8, 2010 in Orlando, Florida.
MSC's full-service "SimSuite" simulation training and education services are focused on those quality initiatives that burden the healthcare system with both poor outcomes and debilitating costs. MSC has recently released the following programs, which join other SimSuite programs that meet IHI guidelines in areas such as Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia, Sepsis and Central Line Infections, at IHI booth #601:
Decompensated Heart Failure Quality Initiative Program
The SimSuite Decompensated Heart Failure Quality Improvement Program focuses on management of the patient experiencing heart failure, based on the 2009 American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® Heart Failure Recognition Program. The program includes a comprehensive web-based course and a simulation workshop using the Laerdal SimMan®.
Door-to-Balloon Time Quality Initiative Program
The SimSuite Door-to-Balloon Program provides guidance on processes to decrease the time between patient arrival to the hospital and balloon inflation. The program, based on ACC Performance Measure guidelines and the Joint Commission's Core Measure Set, includes a comprehensive web-based course and a simulation workshop using the Laerdal SimMan® and the SimSuite Simantha® endovascular simulator.
MSC will also introduce the SimSuite Heart Failure Application for iPhone® and iPad™ at IHI. The application allows users to test their knowledge of best practices in heart failure identification and treatment through an interactive case study and animation taken from the comprehensive Decompensated Heart Failure online course. Visit the MSC booth or www.medsimulation.com for more information.
SimSuite clinical educators will provide hands-on, interactive demonstrations of SimSuite endovascular and quality initiative and critical care training solutions for IHI attendees at booth #601:
