Medicare Physician Names Now Available From INTELLIMED

PHOENIX, Aug. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Intellimed is pleased to announce the availability of the 2012 MedPar Inpatient and Outpatient data including attending and operating physicians associated with each case. The physician's specialty and address are also available in the physician list. This was another step in their effort to improve transparency for all providers of CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid) healthcare services. "Intellimed currently has one of the most complete sets of CMS Standard Analytic Files available with physicians identified," said Gene Koch, Chief Operating Officer of Intellimed.

Intellimed has also mapped the NPIs, the historical MedPar discharges to physician activities that can be tracked over time to see changes in practice patterns, outcomes and organizational allegiances. The mapping was completed for all fee for service inpatients during 2008 – 2012 with detailed record level viewing, as well as 158 million outpatient records for 2012.  "We are excited to be able to provide this level of detail and accuracy to our wide range of healthcare customers," commented Bill Goodwin, CEO of Intellimed.

This dataset will be especially useful for organizations that operate in states with no or restricted access to physician data. For multistate facilities it can be used to supplement the state or hospital association datasets for companywide analytics of facility and physician outcomes and utilization by clinical category. All MedPar data will continue to be severity adjusted by the MS-DRG and 3M APR-DRG groupers. Providers such as Long Term Acute Care, Hospice, Skilled Nursing, Home Health and Rehabilitation with physicians will be able to determine the total number of general acute care patient discharges to each type of service facility in a defined market area.
