Medley Genomics Wins Grand Prize at International 2017 Pistoia Alliance President's Startup Challenge
Judges' recognize Medley's pioneering technology to accelerate precision cancer therapies through deep data analytics
PROVIDENCE, R.I., Nov. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Medley Genomics is the Grand Prize winner of the 2017 Pistoia Alliance President's Challenge, selected by seven industry judges. UK company Transformative AI won the audience vote. Both winners receive a $20,000 award, six months one-to-one mentorship from a Pistoia Alliance member, one year's access to Elsevier's R&D Solutions portfolio and to Clarivate Analytics' life science assets. Contestants included startups from the US, Germany, Canada and the UK.
Dedicated to lowering barriers to research and development innovation, the Pistoia Alliance's key themes for 2017 were real world data, blockchain for health, lab of the future, acceleration of early stage clinical trials and AI/deep learning. Addressing several themes, Medley Genomics' advanced data analytics characterizes the unique molecular and cellular landscape within a patient's cancer providing the 'molecular fingerprints' of his or her tumor, valuable information for healthcare providers determining the initial course of treatment and monitoring of disease.
