The program has rapidly expanded, and MedOptions Connect™ is already up and running in five states (Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Ohio and Texas) with launches in Maine and Vermont scheduled for early in 2017. In the first year of its launch, MedOptions Connect™ is already providing telehealth access to more than 2,500 long-term care facility patients with hundreds of tele-psych sessions completed each day. MedOptions Connect™ is expected to grow more than 200 percent in the next year.
This rapid expansion means that MedOptions will be able to provide patients in rural areas, who otherwise have difficultly gaining access to quality behavioral health care, with access to its large team of credentialed clinicians including psychiatrists, psychologists and nurse practitioners via its patent-pending, HIPAA-compliant, encrypted web portal designed and supported by WeCounsel (www.wecounsel.com). The program together with the video technology offers consistent care access on a weekly basis for MedOptions client facilities, which otherwise may not have a regular behavioral care service. The program also provides critical access to services for bed-bound patients.
