Memorial Hospital Miramar Opens New Outpatient Facility, Expanding Access to Advanced Imaging and Specialty Care

MIRAMAR, Fla., Aug. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Memorial Hospital Miramar has opened a new outpatient facility designed to expand access to advanced diagnostic imaging, outpatient services, specialty care and surgical services for patients and families in the Miramar community and surrounding areas.

The new facility brings together a broad range of outpatient services under one roof, including advanced imaging capabilities, laboratory services, infusion care, women's imaging and outpatient surgery.

Among the facility's highlights are a 3T MRI and 256-slice CT scanner, providing advanced diagnostic imaging capabilities. The facility also features a dedicated outpatient laboratory with a pediatric room, as well as an outpatient benign infusion area with four private rooms designed to provide patients with a comfortable setting for their care.

The new Women's Imaging Center and general ultrasound services further expand convenient access to diagnostic services, while the Memorial Outpatient Surgical Center provides outpatient surgical care in a dedicated setting.

The facility's first floor houses the majority of its outpatient services, including CT, MRI, general ultrasound, women's imaging, Memorial Outpatient Surgical Center, an outpatient laboratory, including a dedicated pediatric room, and an outpatient benign infusion area with four private rooms.

The second floor is home to the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Specialty Center and U18 Sports Rehab, providing specialty and rehabilitation services for patients of varying ages and needs.

The third floor is designated as the future home of the Memorial Cancer Institute, while the fourth floor is planned to become the PET Imaging Center.

The new imaging technology is already helping expand access and reduce appointment wait times for patients. By adding a CT scanner, the facility has increased the total number of patients who can be accommodated each day and has helped reduce appointment wait times.

"The additional CT capacity allows us to accommodate more patients each day and reduce wait times, while the new MRI technology expands the types of exams we can offer and improves the patient experience."

The facility's 256-slice CT scanner features "one-heartbeat" cardiac imaging technology, allowing cardiac scans to be performed at higher heart rates. This can reduce the amount of medication needed to lower a patient's heart rate before an exam and enables the imaging team to successfully complete more cardiac scans.

The new MRI is a 3T system that provides higher image quality and enables exams that were not previously available at Memorial Hospital Miramar, including prostate MRI. The scanner also features Deep Resolve AI software, which can significantly reduce scan times for certain exams, in some cases by as much as 73 percent.

The new outpatient imaging areas also offer greater convenience for families visiting the campus. CT, MRI and ultrasound services are located on the first floor of the new facility, directly beneath the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Specialty Center and U18 Sports Rehab on the second floor.

The expanded facility is also strengthening Memorial's ability to provide advanced pediatric imaging in West Broward. The imaging services were designed with pediatric patients in mind in collaboration with Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and staff have received specialized training to support pediatric imaging needs.
