MemorialCare's Orange Coast & Saddleback Medical Centers Recognized as Best Hospitals by Women's Choice Award

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., March 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- MemorialCare's Orange Coast Medical Center and Saddleback Medical Center have been recognized as Best Hospitals by the Women's Choice Award^® for their commitment in providing the highest level of care for women, as voted on by women.

The Women's Choice Award highlights the excellence of Orange Coast Medical Center in several areas: top 4% in Breast Care, top 5% in Women's Services, top 6% in Bariatrics, top 7% in Mammogram Imaging, top 9% in Cancer Care, and top 10% in Obstetrics. The methodology for determining the Best Hospitals is based on surveys of tens of thousands of women, recommendation ratings based on patient feedback, the most recent publicly available information from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and research conducted in partnership with the Wharton School of Business. This research examines factors that influence the consumer experience for women compared to men.

Six months ago, MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center opened its Women's Health Pavilion, which is designed specially around the unique needs of women's healthcare. Additionally, The Women's Hospital recently renovated their Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) suites to become a more holistic and spa-like environment with lavender-scented towels celebratory brunches for new mothers and some rooms are equipped with birthing tubs. Clinical outcomes are tailored around women including maintaining a 23.2% cesarean birth rate for first-time, low-risk mothers which is above national standards. While Orange Coast Medical Center offers lactation classes and resources in multiple languages, including English and Vietnamese to support a diverse subset of women.
