Men's tech startup, Cladwell, has taken on their biggest challenge yet: Women
CINCINNATI, Oct. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today's launch marks a first for Cladwell. Cladwell, who launched in 2013 to help men dress better, just created their first offering for women: Capsules. It is a destination that helps you create a minimal and versatile wardrobe for each season with only the clothes you love. They extended their offering to women after a "tidal wave" of requests on reddit.com and via email.

Capsules aims to help women get rid of the clutter and have a worry-free wardrobe so they can make time for the things that really matter. It provides women with a 4-step process to build an individualized wardrobe unique to their colors, style and life. The capsule movement has gained popularity largely due to those inspired by Caroline Rector of Unfancy.
"Cladwell's role in the fashion industry is to be the guide on the consumer's side. Retailers and marketers have become experts in selling clothes - resulting in a lot of clutter in our homes. We want to help people clear out the clutter and live bigger lives with smaller wardrobes," explained founder Blake Smith.
The most unique aspect of Capsules is that it generates a simple wardrobe by focusing on personal preferences and the activities in their life. Users check-off the items they own, and only buy what they need.
Cladwell leaders were inspired by the book Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Fast Fashion by Elizabeth L. Cline, which explains that the issues of over-consumption and disposable fashion can lead to ecologically unsustainable business practices, as well as to poor treatment of garment workers and poor garment quality.

Capsules is the first of its kind among online fashion websites and style services. Instead of making money through selling more clothing - they charge a fee to help you dress intentionally. The general idea is that by being more selective with your clothing, you can look great while owning less.
