LOS ANGELES, Feb. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As the Hollywood set goes for gold, it's not just what you wear that stands out during awards week, but what you drive too, which leaves Mercedes-Benz in a unique role of providing Hollywood's elite with the latest eco-friendly vehicles without sacrificing luxury.

As a sponsor of the popular Hollywood Dominos 4th Annual Gala being held at the Sunset Tower Hotel to benefit the Seven Bar Foundation, Mercedes-Benz is ensuring the swift and safe arrival of celebrity committee members and attendees in S400 Hybrid sedans. The luxurious S-Class hybrid provides an estimated 30 miles per gallon on the highway and features the world's first lithium-ion battery in a production hybrid vehicle.
The Hollywood Dominos crowd is also getting an up-close look at one of the limited number of Zero Emission B-Class Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles that are now available for lease in California. Mercedes-Benz delivered several B-Class hydrogen fuel cell vehicles including one to the uber-eco conscious Executive Director of the Producers Guild of America, Vance Van Petten. The vehicle is essentially an electric car that is fueled by compressed hydrogen, which gets the equivalent fuel mileage of 86.6 city-highway miles per gallon with a range of up to 240 miles, can be re-fueled in approximately 3 minutes and produces water as the only emission.
The weekend festivities are culminating with Mercedes-Benz annual Oscar viewing party that is taking place at the Soho House West Hollywood. A tradition during Oscar weekend, the invitation only viewing party draws an exclusive mix of industry executives and Hollywood insiders that celebrate Mercedes-Benz long-standing history in the film.
Mercedes-Benz kicked off the Award Season in January as the exclusive automotive sponsor for The Palm Springs International Film Festival and The Art of Elysium's Fourth Annual Black Tie Heaven charity gala. At both events, VIP attendees including Amy Adams, Mark Wahlberg, Natalie Portman, Colin Firth, Helen Mirren, Ben Affleck, Robert Duvall, James Franco, Eva Mendes, Jake Gyllenhaal, Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles, Matthew Rhys, Rachel Bilson, Kelly Osbourne, Nicole Richie and Elijah Wood among others arrived in Mercedes-Benz eco vehicles. At the Art of Elysium Heaven Gala, Mercedes-Benz BlueTEC clean diesel vehicles provided eco-friendly transport to children who were creatively inspired during their extended hospital stays.
Mercedes-Benz portfolio of eco-friendly and alternative fuel vehicles include the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, ML-Class, GL-Class and R-Class BlueTEC clean diesel, the S400 Hybrid luxury sedan, and the B-Class hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
