Mercury Solar Systems Completes 3.6MW Solar Project in Manalapan, New Jersey

MAYS LANDING, N.J., Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercury Solar Systems, one of the leading solar integrators on the East Coast, today announced the completion of a 3.6MW system in Manalapan, one of the largest ground-mounted, grid-interconnected solar systems in New Jersey. The Company worked with NJR Clean Energy Ventures, the owner of the system, and Spano Partners Holdings, the land and project developer, on the $17.2 million solar project.

"This ground mount is the largest system we have designed and installed to date and underscores the continued strength of the utility-scale solar market in New Jersey," commented Frank Alfano, CEO of Mercury Solar Systems.

Over 12,000 solar panels were installed at the Village at Manalapan, home to a future 500,000 sq ft shopping center. The solar system is expected to produce 4.5 million kilowatt hours annually or enough energy to power approximately 450 homes every year. This will eliminate an estimated 3,100 metric tons of carbon equivalent emissions from the atmosphere each year or the equivalent of removing the carbon dioxide emissions produced by approximately 609 cars.
