MGIC Bolsters Sales Team to Support Growing Demand for Private MI

MILWAUKEE, Feb. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation, the primary subsidiary of MGIC Investment Corporation (NYSE: MTG), has announced the addition of six veteran mortgage industry professionals to its sales team.  The additions are a direct response to MGIC's increased penetration as the mortgage market shifts to a purchase market and FHA's market share continues to return to historic norms.

Rob Deters has 24 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry.  During his career Rob has worked with large national lenders as well as local credit unions giving him a broad appreciation for the nuanced challenges faced by different types of lenders.  Rob is the Account Manager for Central Indiana, Northern Kentucky and Ohio.

Christie Buff has worked in the housing market for 27 years.  She understands the mortgage market from the inside out having experience as a wholesale account executive, working in loan production and having been a licensed Real Estate salesperson.  Christie is the Account Manager for Western Florida.

Carl Benefield brings 21 years of mortgage industry experience to his new role.  Having begun his career as a credit officer and loan officer before transitioning to a wholesale account executive, Carl also has direct consumer lending experience as co-owner of a mortgage company.  Carl understands the importance of generating quality loans especially in today's regulatory environment.  Carl is the Account Manager for Louisiana.

Trey Waters' 11 years in the mortgage industry includes experience as a loan officer, as a business development manager in mortgage technology and as a mortgage insurance account executive.  Trey is the Account Manager for Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Laura Plunkett has extensive experience as an account executive with an emphasis in wholesale lending.  Laura is the Account Representative for Northern California and Nevada.

Andrew Amenson has been with MGIC since 2003, most recently as a member of the inside sales team.  As an Account Representative his territories include Arizona and New Mexico.
