DETROIT, Feb. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Kolene Corporation President Scott Schilling announced the appointment of Michael A. Axline to Vice President of Engineering of the corporation effective immediately. Mr. Axline is a 29 year employee at Kolene and will lead all engineering and facilities activities for the company.
"Mike is one of best engineers I have ever worked with and an expert in the molten salt industry," said Schilling. "His team is critical in the engineering and design of all of our equipment and his knowledge of Kolene and our chemical processes allow for the manufacture of state-of-the-art molten salt bath systems to support our customers' applications."
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my 29 years at Kolene. When I started in our engineering department, we were manually drawing our systems and making our blueprints by hand. Today, everything is digital 3D and electronically archived and distributed. In my new position, I look forward to continue adopting new tools and know-how not only in the design area, but also incorporating new technologies in the systems we offer our customers."
Axline, 45, joined Kolene running blueprints in 1987, eventually working his way up to draftsman. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University in 1993. He has served in various engineering roles during his time at Kolene and was previously promoted to Manager of Engineering in 2006, then Director of Engineering in 2014. Mr. Axline and his wife Melissa have two grown children and reside in Redford, Michigan.
Now entering its 77th year, Detroit based Kolene Corporation provides custom-designed and engineered equipment, specialized chemical formulations, and processes for cleaning and conditioning metal surfaces.
