Michael J. Fox Foundation Educational Videos Honored with Multiple World-Class Telly Awards

NEW YORK, June 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF) is the recipient of Telly Awards in both the "Silver" and "Bronze" categories for three of the Foundation's recent videos: "Ask the MD: Your Top Questions on Exercise and Parkinson's Answered," "Breakthrough," and "2024 Robert A. Pritzker Prize for Leadership in Parkinson's Research." This year, the Foundation's video nominations were selected from an applicant pool of over 13,000 entries from across the globe. To date, the Foundation has been awarded 27 Telly Awards for its diverse educational video resources.

The Telly Awards represent one of the highest honors in the television and video industry, further reinforcing MJFF's commitment to producing high-quality, trustworthy and informed content for the Parkinson's disease (PD) community. In its 46th awards season, the Telly competition selected outstanding videos across advertising, television and production companies and publishers from around the world.

The Foundation was honored to receive three Telly Awards for its educational video content, including:

• Awarded "Silver" in the non-broadcast category of motivational and advice, "Ask the MD: Your Top Questions on Exercise and Parkinson's Answered," breaks down questions from the community on exercise and its impact on boosting brain health. The video features Rachel Dolhun, MD, DipABLM, movement disorder specialist, lifestyle medicine physician and principal medical advisor at MJFF and Cristina Colón-Semenza, PhD, a physical therapist, rehab scientist and assistant professor of kinesiology at the University of Connecticut.

• Honored with "Silver" in the non-broadcast category of health and safety, "Breakthrough," produced by Michael J. Fox and Nelle Fortenberry, MJFF Board Member and Michael J. Fox's longtime producing partner, highlights the 2023 Parkinson's biomarker breakthrough discovery — a tool that can detect the earliest biological signs of the disease in living people. The film, which covers the groundbreaking breakthrough and what it means for the future of Parkinson's disease research and drug development, features star-studded talent including (in order of appearance) Harrison Ford, Josh Gad, Jennifer Grey, Wendell Pierce, Tracy Pollan, Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Dr. Soto was recognized as the 2024 winner of the Robert A. Pritzker Prize for his leadership and collaboration resulting in the discovery of the Parkinson's biomarker tool, called the alpha-synuclein seed amplification assay.
