Michelin Introduces New Defender Tire, The Longest-Lasting Tire Among Leading Competitors
GREENVILLE, S.C., March 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Michelin introduced the new MICHELIN DEFENDER for passenger vehicles, which features an 80,000-mile warranty. Following the release of the original Defender in 2012, the latest tire has been upgraded with an advanced generation tread compound that makes it the longest-lasting tire among leading competitors' tires1. Additionally, the new MICHELIN DEFENDER speed rating has been increased to H rating to fit more vehicles and appeal to consumers who desire a lasting longevity benefit.
"We know that many consumers make tire-purchasing decisions based on warranty and price, but tire warranties, unfortunately, do not always accurately reflect the actual wear performance of a tire," said Scott Clark, COO, Michelin North America.
