Michigan State Numismatic Society Spring Show Comes to Dearborn
Free Public Coin Show will Feature Educational Programs, Dealers and Professional Appraisals
DEARBORN, Mich., April 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Michigan State Numismatic Society, MSNS, will be holding its Spring Show and Educational Programs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 8, 9 and 10th, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan. The coin and paper money educational displays as well as near two hundred professional dealers are free and open to the public. Saturday features two educational classes, free and open with no charges. The educational displays on the main floor hold some of the best competition covering ten separate categories. The public is welcome.
Saturday's program also includes a class for Young Numismatists. A Sunday feature is a treasure case filled with sand and coins. One grab per person and you get to keep what you find.
People are encouraged to bring in coins for appraisal or sale.
Wayne County Executive, Robert Ficano, will open the convention with a ribbon cutting Friday, April 8 at 10 a.m.
The only cost event will be a seven hour seminar on "Michigan Obsolete Paper Money." You must be a member of MSNS to attend and to participate in the college-like seminar.
The coin and paper collectors meet twice a year. The 2011 Fall show will be held Thanksgiving weekend.
