MicroPact Wins IRS Contracts to Develop New Integrated Data Tracking Applications

HERNDON, Va., Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MicroPact, a leader in the development of case and business process management (BPM) software, today announced it was selected by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to implement and configure two new data tracking applications. The two contracts, with a value up to $3.6M, were awarded by the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) and the Office of Safeguards (Safeguards) and directly support the business needs of the organization. The two systems, which will be developed using MicroPact's entellitrak software, are intended to replace multiple software applications currently in use that are independent of each other but contain and manage similar data.

The objective of the Taxpayer Advocate Service Integrated System (TASIS) is to offer a unified solution for capturing, tracking and resolving taxpayer and tax practitioners advocacy related issues. The new system will improve upon and combine the functionality of the current software into a single integrated solution.

The TASIS project intends to implement and configure entellitrak to develop custom Application Programming Interfaces, migrate data from legacy systems and provide system and end-user documentation. Additionally, entellitrak will support TAS business needs by creating user profiles, system roles and permissions, graphic user interfaces, database tables, and system alerts and notifications, as well as extending support for up to 1,600 concurrent users.

With the second contract, MicroPact will develop a singular solution for capturing, tracking and managing internal and external stakeholder statutory reporting work items related to Safeguards' program delivery, via the entellitrak platform. Combining the functionality of the current, multiple software applications into a single, integrated solution will more efficiently support and manage Safeguards' growing business needs, including the influx of external and internal stakeholders as a result of the Affordable Care Act legislation. 

Additionally, MicroPact's entellitrak software will be responsible for the creation of user profiles, database tables and elements that pertain to case tracking and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) tracking, graphic user interfaces, document repositories, standard performance management reports, reporting compliance and will support Safeguards users throughout the IRS.
