MicroStrategy Announces General Availability of MicroStrategy 9.2.1m

MicroStrategy 9.2.1m, which improves upon MicroStrategy's widely acclaimed and top-rated mobile BI platform, was showcased to MicroStrategy's customers during today's MicroStrategy World 2012 Keynote address in Miami, Florida. 

MicroStrategy Mobile delivers information to mobile platforms such as iPads and iPhones in a way that is compelling, captivating, and secure.  The new capabilities in MicroStrategy 9.2.1m include support for offline mobile transactions, intelligent offline caching, and a secure mobile content management system, all resulting in a richer user experience.  Businesses can be more productive and efficient with enhanced business intelligence, transactional, and multimedia capabilities for a wide variety of essential mobile apps. 

The new capabilities in MicroStrategy 9.2.1m now include:

• Rotation – This feature supports dynamic positioning and sizing of layout objects based on device orientation.
• Pinch to Zoom – On any document or report, users can pinch to zoom in and out of the app, maintaining full interactivity.
• Accessibility – Users can leverage the iOS Accessibility framework features, such as VoiceOver.
• Pre-cache Folders – This enhancement enables easy administration of offline applications.
• Adaptive Mobile Caching – Smart background streaming is available based on the user's app activity.
• Offline Interface Enhancements – This feature offers the user a clear indication of online and offline document and report availability.
• Security – Support has been added for Siteminder Single Sign-on.
• Mobile Analytical Engine Optimizations – The product contains multiple optimizations into how MicroStrategy prepares, delivers, and renders the code, resulting in faster delivery of information and a better user experience.
• Network Quality Monitoring – This informs the users of available network bandwidth in real-time.

New in MicroStrategy 9.2.1m are rapid page navigation and a new timeline widget.  Users can quickly navigate through the "pages" of a page-by 'sliced' report by tapping on the edge of the page, resulting in report navigation that is faster than turning a page of paper.  The new Timeline Widget delivers visualizations that display events and details in an interactive timeline visualization, a useful capability that helps business users correlate and compare business events that happen over time.  In addition, MicroStrategy 9.2.1m provides users with instant access to information, both offline and online.  With offline transactions, users can submit and queue data transactions and information collection while offline or with limited connectivity.  Additionally, the new release enables secure and dynamic sourcing and delivery of files and multimedia to mobile end users.  With the MultiMedia Widget feature, a user can connect to file management systems such as WebDAV and Sharepoint to dynamically source multimedia files into the App.

Now Available on the Android Marketplace

MicroStrategy 9.2.1m marks the first time MicroStrategy Mobile for Android has been available to the public via the Android Marketplace. In addition to new features and performance optimizations, MicroStrategy Mobile for Android 9.2.1m includes enterprise app demonstrations.
