MILFORD, Ohio, April 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- When searching for a fuel-friendly vehicle that offers a comfortable ride and an equally pleasant interior, options for new car-shoppers are rather limited. Some automakers have made the grave error of outfitting their high fuel-economy vehicles with rather sparse interiors that feature too many hard surfaces and fail to put the driver and passengers at ease during a trip. That, however, is not the case with the 2013 Chevy Cruze, now available from Mike Castrucci Chevrolet. There is another lingering question around, how does the 2013 Chevy Cruze in Cincinnati stack up against the competition? Mike Castrucci has answered it by comparing the 2013 Chevy Cruze vs. the 2013 Toyota Corolla, a chief rival.

Right off of the bat, the 2013 Chevy Cruze takes a lead over the Toyota Corolla on the fuel-efficiency battlefront. The base Chevy Cruze trim is powered by 1.8-liter, inline four-cylinder engine and is coupled with a very efficient six-speed transmission that allows for Environmental Protection Agency fuel estimates of 25 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway. The Chevy Cruze widens the fuel-economy gap in the Eco trim, where the Chevrolet compact car can reach MPG ratings of up to 42 miles per gallon with the 1.4-liter engine and available manual transmission.

The Toyota Corolla has long been the standard bearer for a fuel-efficient sedan. However, its latest version doesn't quite stack up against the 2013 Chevy Cruze. The base trim of the Toyota Corolla has EPA fuel estimates of 27 miles per gallon in the city and 34 mpg on the highway with the standard manual transmission. Those who choose an automatic transmission in the Toyota Corolla will see a further drop in fuel savings.

Several interior features of the 2013 Chevy Cruze make it stand out against the Toyota Corolla. While the Chevy Cruze is a modestly priced, compact car it certainly won't leave owners feeling they own a cheap car with a cheaper interior. The Chevy Cruze is outfitted with two-tone upholstery that has a very premium feel to it. The center gauge cluster is well thought out and designed for the driver to be able to discern vital vehicle information at a glance and then immediately turn their attention back to the road.
