Mike joins Po.et to extend his knowledge on digital media commercialization
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Po.et announced today that Mike Germano, Chief Digital Officer at Vice Media, has joined its advisory board, bringing with him deep industry expertise that will help guide Po.et's blockchain solutions for both digital publishers and content creators.
Po.et is building an open, blockchain-based protocol for decentralized media applications. By creating a universal digital asset registry backed by blockchain technology, Po.et is providing content creators, publishers and editors with tools to help protect and monetize their creative assets. Existing solutions include cost-efficient metadata timestamping onto the Bitcoin Blockchain and Po.et's core product, the immutable portfolio. This content wallet gives asset owners an easy to use interface to manage and set custom licensing terms for their works.
Po.et recently completed a successful $10 million USD token sale which will provide it with the necessary capital to accelerate the development of its blockchain protocol. Over 2,500 unique participants were able to purchase Po.et tokens, representing a wide distribution of token holders. Po.et tokens will be redeemable and transferable Tuesday, August 29th.
Various digital publishers have already onboarded the platform as early alpha partners. Po.et's alpha release includes digital verification badges, an identity management system, and a block explorer that provides enhanced internal discoverability for large content catalogs. Po.et's alpha partners include Blink, BTC Media, The Let's Talk Bitcoin Network, as well as a number of digital publishers covering the blockchain industry.
Mike Germano has an extensive background in conceptualizing and executing digital media strategy. As the first elected official whose campaign strategy relied heavily on social media for distribution, Germano understands the powerful role that digital media plays in society. Mike founded and still serves as the CEO of Carrot Creative, a digital ad agency acquired by Vice in 2013. At Vice, Mike leads commercialization strategy for their media properties.
